Sumerwynd Miniature Schnauzers
On Genetic Testing
Since 1980, Sumerwynd Miniature Schnauzers has charted a breeding course on two bedrock principles:
Selective inclusion of superior miniature schnauzer champions possessing superior breed standard characteristics.
Complete exclusion of any candidate whose breeding history is known for incidence of myatonia, congenital juvenile cataracts (CJC), liver shunts or progressive retinal atrophy (PRA).
We are very pleased with our achievements derived from our selective breeding strategy:
We have, to date not had, a dog diagnosed with myatonia, CJC, liver shunts or PRA in our entire history.
To date, we have bred and finished 70 AKC Champions at Sumerwynd.
There are hundreds of additional champions in other breeding programs world wide deriving from our stock.
Results are available upon request.
