Sumerwynd Miniature Schnauzers
Health
We have a strong working relationship with the veterinary community. In over 9 generations of breeding, our dogs have not been diagnosed with hereditary diseases commonly seen in breed, like Progressive Rental Atrophy (PRA), Congenital Juvenile Cataracts (CJC), Myatonia or liver shunts. In fact, Sumerwynd dogs have lived to the ripe old age of 17 years! We adhere to the testing standards established for Miniature Schnauzers by the American Kennel Club Canine Health Information Center (CHIC). Each puppy has had their initial vaccinations, microchipped and wormed prior to going to its new home. We always schedule an office visit with our personal veterinarian on the day the new family picks their puppy up. During this wellness examination, the new family has an excellent opportunity to ask any health questions or address any concerns that they may have with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Puppy parents are encouraged to keep in touch with us as our relationship with them doesn’t end when a puppy goes to its new home. Health guarantee available upon request
