I have a blue w/white markings italian greyhound and am looking to breed him. I know that a black or blue with tan or brindle markings is not a breed standard. Are there certain colors that a blue should not be bred with?

First you should be considering other things...
Is your IG health tested? Is he of breeding quality? WHY do you want to breed? There are a lot of pups out there already, if not to better the breed, who produce more to fill the shelters?
You don't provide a lot of info, but just some things to consider...
