Wheezie was a golden retriever born with a defected larynx, causing her to wheeze loudly, thus her name. Her breeder was going to put her down but my friend Kathy wouldn't hear of it and rescued her. Eventually she came to live with me and almost died at one point from this defect. Emergency surgery (and a few thousand dollars later) and she was almost as good as new. She lived with me for quite a few years but just passed away in January from a brain tumor. She was the most special dog I ever had the pleasure to know and I miss her terribly. What a great spirit!
I love you Wheezie! Until we meet again and we will.
