Owner Contract
The new owner contract shown is a sample posted by this member as a representative of the agreement you would enter into prior to obtaining a puppy/dog from this breeder. It is not, nor does it imply, a contract with or guarantee by QualityDogs.com, endorsement by QualityDogs.com of this contract, or any responsibility, express or implied, by QualityDogs.com. The breeder listed is solely responsible for the content of this contract and its satisfaction. For your protection, QualityDogs.com recommends obtaining a printed, signed copy of any contract.

3. This puppy is being sold as a pet. Therefore, spaying or neutering is required. It is recommended that the buyer spay or neuter the dog at 6-9 months of age unless the buyer wishes the breeder to evaluate the dog for possible showing/breeding purposes. A certificate of spaying/neutering must be provided to the breeder when this procedure is done. There are many health and behavioral benefits from such action. Additionally, there is a pet overpopulation problem and the breeder does not want this puppy to contribute to that problem.
4. The breeder has agreed to give one training class and manual to the buyer through which the puppy can be properly trained. The manual was written by the breeder to support the learning of clients taking training classes offered by PET BEHAVIOR ASSOCIATES, INC., owned and operated by the breeder. It is strongly recommended that said the buyer attend basic obedience classes with this dog.
5. The Buyer should have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within seven days to determine that the puppy is healthy and of suitable temperament. If the Buyer is dissatisfied with the puppy, (s)he must be returned (at the Buyer’s expense) and the Buyer will receive a full refund of the cost of the puppy. If, at any time thereafter, the Buyer can no longer keep the dog, the Breeder MUST be consulted so that a suitable home can be sought. The buyer may find an appropriate home for said dog ONLY with breeder approval or return the dog to the breeder. If the buyer finds an alternate home, the buyer MUST neuter the dog before placing him. In either case, no refund shall be allotted.
6. The buyer is responsible for paying a total sum of $1,250.00 minus any deposit previously made for the puppy. The total sum is to be paid in cash, personal or certified, check or money order. Registration papers will be forwarded within thirty days.
7. The kennel name, Wildwood, must be used as part of the puppy’s registered name followed by the name the buyer has chosen. The breeder intends to co own the puppy with the buyer so that if the dog is lost and the owner cannot be found, the puppy can be returned legally to the breeder.
8. Should the buyer decide to show the puppy, arrangements can be made to change the puppy’s registration type. Other terms will then apply.
9. This puppy has been seen several times by a licensed veterinarian for physical examination and shots. (S)he has received the first two shots in a series of four puppy shots (for DA2MP+PARVO, at the age of 6 weeks. (S)he is due for his second set of vaccines at nine weeks of age. On his third set of shots, he should also be vaccinated against Bordatella and Corona. At 16- 20 weeks of age he should get a rabies vaccine. Please see the vaccination records. He has been wormed several times. The latest worming was at 9 weeks of age.
10. The buyer agrees to offer this puppy a good home where (s)he will be properly socialized and trained. This puppy is being sold as a pet; (s)he should be considered a family member and be kept in the house. Family members should interact with him and teach him basic household manners in the manner described in the training manual received.
11. The buyer is required to take this dog to the veterinarian at least once a year for annual examination and to have this dog vaccinated per the veterinarian’s recommendations. The buyer further agrees to provide quality health care for this dog throughout his life.
12. If, at any time, the buyer is shown not to abide by the terms of this contract, the buyer is required to return the dog to the breeder as described in statement number 5 above.
