My 7 year old Male Rottweiler has just been diagnosed with myocitis - he is currently taking high doses of prednisone with tapering off in the next few weeks - this is a very unusual disease - our vet does not want to do a muscle biopsy at this moment in time and see what happens after tapering off of Pred. We just hate to see our Rott go through so much pain upon opening his jaw - he does however eat soft food and his doing fairly well. Has anybody else experienced this disease in their Rott? We were wondering maybe if we should exercise him more to keep his muscles from wasting away further? Any comments or suggestions on this disease? Will it get worse before it gets better?
