Hi, Our dogs are kept in kennel runs with insulated dog houses in our barn. They have heating pads to help with the really cold weather. Ours are able to be comfortable outside even below freezing, and will often sleep outside in the snow in the sun during the day. They need shelter out of the wind below 35 degrees, and at night, but otherwise they do fine outside.
I would recommend breeding your female after her second heat, or just before she turns 2, whichever is later. After 2 the hips are more set. Please feel free to ask any other questions.
