A Visitor asked the following question on 9/26/2007
I have a 2 and a half year old male Mini Aussie. We are thinking about breeding him to a female soon. But before we make this decision I want find out and learn as much about breeding Aussie's as possible! If you have ANY information at all please share it with me! Thanks!

Why? Do you do any showing in any venue with your male? Have you done Hip Clearances, CERF, researched pedigrees for any genetic problems? You do know that ASCA and AKC do not consider minis to be Australian Shepherds - right? Therefore they are not AKC nor ASCA recognized nor registerable. SO you will not be breeding Aussies - if you breed him to a AKC/ASCA registered female and try to register the pups as such it will not be allowed.
Are you wanting to breed just to have puppies and make $$ - not good reasons to breed. What are your goals?
