I got into the German Shorthaired Pointer by hunting with one at a local preserve when I was 11 years old. The GSP I hunted with was named "Pete" he was a standard liver roan male. I was blown way by Pete's desire to find & point birds, his intelligence, and his intensity. I was so amazed just at the fact he found Pheasants in fields we had already hunted with our old lab. Then when I saw "Pete" lock up on point, I knew my journey was about to begin....
Now "Hartley's Quality Shorthairs" is a passion shared between my dad and I. We strive to produce quality German Shorthairs that will perform for the foot hunter but will also bring joy into your home and family.
When my dad and I started "Hartley's Quality Shorthairs" we knew that our kennel would be built upon honesty and integrity and only produce what we thought would improve the breed.
