If you want to breed your dog, buy from dogs that throw big litters. If you want just a pet, it really doesn't matter. I just had another of my champion pedigreed females have a litter of eight! Must be the Royal Canin dog food! LOL! She's never had more then five before.

Just because a mother produces large litters does not necessarily mean that the offspring will. I had a girl that had 5 and 6 in a litter and all her daughters produced 1 0r 2
