Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Questions

A Visitor asked the following question on 12/7/2003
I want a cavalier king charles spaniel, but i don't want a dog with seperation anxiety problems. I also want a very calm, indoor dog that could stay and sleep in my room without constant barking and hyperness. I would like a dog that is easy to train and will not be sick a lot. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are beautiful dogs and i would realy want one but will it be the right breed for me?

4/7/04 Cavaliers are not yappy by nature occasionally you can get a hyper one though if you tell the breeder exactly what you are looking for they should be able to guide you in the process of picking your puppy Cavaliers are quite easy to train and if you are buying from a reputable breeder that tests for heart and eyes and has healthy clean pups then you are on the right track Cavaliers dont like to be left alone all day theya re a companion dog Vicki
12/6/04 If you are looking for a companion, a shadow, with a willingness to please, then the Cavalier is just right for you. Because they are companion dogs, they do not do well being left alone all day if you work long hours. It is important to do 6 month/annual exams to monitor their hearts, especially as they grow older. If all of the above fits your needs, then visit my advertisement and website ( for a loving and gentle "comfort spaniel." Juli

6/2/05 It is important to wait for a well bred Cavalier, please read the following: Kathryn

6/4/05 I would recommend that you contact a Cavalier breed club to find breeder near you. That way you can make a connection with a local breeder to evaluate if a Cavalier is a good match for you. In the United States the AKC parent club would be the ACKCSC. You can access them on: Regards, Kathy Yonkers Stuarthome CKCS Member of ACKCSC & CKCSC of Michigan Kathryn
