If you are the owner of the Sire/Dam, then you should have gotten registration papers when you registered the litter.
IF you are not the owner of the Sire/Dam, then you need to contact the breeder to get either his AKC or his UKC registration papers. IF the breeder did not register the litter, then you cannot register the dog.
IF you did get the AKC or UKC registration papers then fill them out and follow the directions on them. Usually there is a financial penalty for late registration of a litter or of papers issued for that litter.

We have the registration papers.... And basically you are saying that there is just a financial penalty which is a factor that I am not worried about. Thanks!!!!

With AKC you can register up to one year from the time that the litter is registered without any penalty - I am not certain if UKC has a penalty or not, however they are very easy to reach and you can ask them by telephone 269-343-9020. There is no "time frame" to register a dog under either.

Do both parents have AKC papers? That's the only way that you can register your dog with the AKC. If one parent has UKC and the other has AKC, then your dog would only be able to register UKC.
