What do you think about giving older dogs vitamins? These girls are 10 and 12 yrs old. I feed them a super premium food but wonder if vitamins might help also? The reason I am wondering is I started giving my 32 year old horse some weight gaining type supplements and he is thriving on them. A huge change! I have given the dogs vitamins in the past and really didn't see a difference. Just wondering what others may have experienced with their geriatric pups regarding supplements/vitamins. Any thoughts?

I always gave my dogs naturally-sourced vitamins, even at a young age.

Well, I have a Bulldog, so they definitely need their vitamins

I have a Golden Retriever. I honestly think all dogs need good, natural vitamins.

Yes, I give my Miniature Schnauzer vitamins every day. They're flavored so she loves them!

I used to use some vitamins many years ago, and they had only food-sourced ingredients, not chemicals. I can't remember the name, and they went out of business... I think it had GOLD in the name? They were amazing and I could really tell they helped with energy, digestion, and coat. I would love to find more like them!

YES! There are a number of vitamins for dogs that have all their nutrients sourced from natural food sources. They are the only ones I will use. Other than that, I think you're just wasting your money. I don't know if we are allowed to mention specific brand names here, but do your research. There are several brands that I use, and sometimes they can be hard to find, so I just buy whichever one is available at the time.
