Almost finished with the first week.
The first week is almost done. I don't leave my puppies for at least a week after they are born. I want to make sure they are safe, that they are getting around well, and that momma is learning how to move around the whelping box without hurting the babies. I am sleeping on the couch at night and staying in the room during the day. I have gotten my fill of daytime TV. LOL But the benefits out weigh the temporary discomfort.
During this first week and beyond I am doing with each puppy what is called 'Super Puppy' exercises. These exercises are designed to stimulate the neurological system. There are 5 different exercises and each one only lasts 3-5 seconds. The benefits of these exercises include:
1. Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate)
2. Stronger heart beats
3. Stronger adrenal glands
4. More tolerance to stress and
5. Greater resistance to disease.
I will continue these exercises until they are 16 days old.
Stay tuned for more as they grow.
