A Visitor asked the following question on 2/20/2008
When breeding, how many times is needed by the male to mount the female to assure pregnancy? My male is mounting 1 time a day for the past 2 days? Do we need more or should we be good to go?

Once is enough but we normally try once every other day and that way we are assured of some puppies. About two times is good in a three day span- Just don't allow breeding to go on for too many days as that would make some of the puppies much younger in gestation and they will not live. (Heat may last 14 days.)
