A Visitor asked the following question on 7/17/2007
I just got my new yorkie puppy and did a blood workup to make sure she was ok. She's 3 1/2 months old and her BUN number is 81. CREA, TP, ALT, ALKP, and GLU are all normal. She's eating fine, playing, sleeping, fine. Looks beautiful, clear eyes, no diarrhea. Just a BUN number of 81. Is this liver problems? Thank you.....

8/11/08 Yes this could very well be a liver problem and should be tended to by your veterinarian. Further testing should be done to rule out liver shunt problems which if not cared for can lead to the death of your little one. Do an online search for liver shunt problems or you can go to my site www.littletsyorkshires.com and find a small discription about it. Liver problems are never anything to scoff at and should be taken very seriously. I hope that your baby is doing better, and I pray that you will study this nasty diease to better understand it. Kindest Regards, Terri Terri
