A Visitor asked the following question on 11/29/2006
My 2yr old Yorkie is in excellent health-AKC registered; he is 12 lbs and everyone, except his doctor, keeps saying he's so big-bigger than any Yorkie they have seen. Is he, according to experts?

Hi, He is bigger than the standard for show dogs calls for. AKC calls for a 7 lb or smaller dog. BUT he is happy and healthy and certainly there are pet yorkies much larger than the show ones at 7 lbs. The small ones often have health problems, altho' I have been very lucky not to have them in my lines. Just be proud that he is healthy and happy and love him!!!
