A Visitor asked the following question on 7/27/2006
Our 5 year old female Yorkie has stopped eating from her food dish and stopped drinking from her water dish. She will walk up to about 8 to 10 inches from the dishes then backs away. She will eat from our hand and drink if we hold the water dish. She has become very skiddish when walking near her dishes. Also she is always scratching and biting herself. She does not have fleas.

Doris, what type of food are you feeding? And could a bug of some kind have scared her? Is the food dry? perhaps a piece hurt her throat due to yorkies have sensitive throats? Have a vet look at it...But I would not hand feed we all know how quickly they get spoiled!!! LOL
