A Visitor asked the following question on 9/7/2004
My Westie is 7 mo - at 5 mo she had a urinary tract infection - took antibotics for 3 wks and
still had bacteria - I had a culture done to see
what type of bacteria - and vet said ther was no
bacteria in urine or culture-that was 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I noticed a few drops of pink in
her urine - and a change in the quantity of urine
each time (about 1/3 the usual amount) Any idea
what could cause this re-occurance. Are Westies know for urinary problems?

I can't answer most of your questions but I have heard several times that westies as a breed do have urinary problems.
