I recently noticed my westie is drinking more. He even wants to get up at night to drink. He is almost 10 and was hospitalized in Oct. for hemmoragic diahhrea, but came out of it fine. Is the thirstness a sign of something serious?

yes, westies are prone to kidney and bladder ailments, or it might be some type of canine diabetes. You must take him to the vet immediately!
