AHHH The age old question. To Breed or Not to breed. First off you need to evaluate if this dog is even worthy of being bred. Is she close to the breed standard? Is she free of genetic defects? Does she have any bad traits that shouldnt be passed on? Have you studied your poodles background? Have you found an appropriate mate? Is the female mature enough to breed? Is the female big enough to beed safely?
Then there are some other questions you should think about. Why are you breeding your female? If you answer with: Just to show your children the miricle or birth or to make a little money or because she has a great personality, then these are NOT good enough reasons to breed. Are you ready for the comitment of raising a litter and all that entails? This is not a money gaining venture. It takes a lot of time, money, blood, sweat and tears to raise a litter properly. Are you willing to back up your puppies with a health guarantee incase God forbid something happens?
