A Visitor asked the following question on 8/12/2007
I have a gorgeous silver toy who is nine years old. She has never had a litter- is she too old? She's in great health, acts like a puppy. Also, should we spay her if she's too old for breeding?
Thank you

Too old for breeding? Yes! I retire mine at 6 to 8 years and spay them. Pyometria is a uterine infection that can happen to an intact female at any age and can cause death. Speak to your vet about spaying her ASAP to ensure she never gets this deadly disease.
