A toy Poodle can go into heat from 7-12 months of age on her first heat, and should not be bred until all medical testing can be done at 2 years of age. When she goes into heat she will have a few weeks of the boys liking her sent, then her volva will swell and she will start to bleed. She is fertilefrom 10 days after bleeding has started and will stand for a male for the next week or so. Then she is still smelling good to the males but will not allow mating. Please take your female to a vet before you decide to breed her to get all breed specific testing done.
