Shih Tzus do shed some if their hair is left long. Most people have them groomed and have their body hair shaved short, leaving their ears, moustache and beard long as well as their tail. This all but stops all shedding. Shih Tzus typically only bark when they hear a unfamiliar noise. If taken from their mother during the separation phase of their life, typically around 8 weeks of age. You may get a puppy that barks at noises that you don't even hear. You could not ask for a sweeter personality. They are the perfect pet and very loving companions. We at 'Spoiled Rotten' Kennel, do not recommend nor do we let any puppy leave us until the puppy is 10 weeks of age, somtimes a week or two longer. We make that decision based on each puppies development.
