I have a 9 year old daughter and am thimking of getting a shih itzu puppy but am unsure wether to by a boy or a girl as i do not intend to breed please help!

Males are sweeter, females more territorial (in opposition to normal sex characteristics in canines.
If you wait too long to fix him, tho', he'll spray (so he needs to be neutered before he gets around a bitch in heat and before he matures to adolescence (about 8 mos). Female is easier to housebreak, but less the family door and more a prima donna.
