I am sorry for the loss of your baby. Hypercalcemia is the result of a disease process. Hypocalcemia is what takes place if a bitch is NOT producing enough milk and doesn't have enough milk for her babies. In your case, if your female lost her puppies on the 17th, she had no milk, only colostrum, her milk production would not come in for 2-3 days. Babies nursing stimulate the milk to be produced. Since she has no babies, she probably won't even have any milk. If she does, watch for her teats for swelling, redness, feeling really hot, and being really hard. These would be signs of mastitis, if you think you see these things combined she would need to see a vet, as mastitis is an infection and antibiotics would be required. I hope this helps.
