What are some things that I would have to do,to make my male Sheltie into a stud?

#1 - have the dog registered with one of the two agencies that do that.
#2 - full genetic testing for vWD, eyes, hips and thyroid.
#3 - have your dog assessed by a breeder to determine if he has qualities worth continuing on with.
#4 - show and finish your dog in one or more dog fancy events.
#5 - have the semen tested to ensure he is fertile.
Cost to get a stud dogs tests done $300 or more
Cost to get CKC Championship $500+. Cost of AKC Championship $2,500+
Cost of Breeder assesment - varies
Cost of Advertising said stud dog once all the above are done $100+ per month.
