I was wondering is have a Shiba Inu good with kids? We want to get an eight month old and was just wondering how it would do with kids.

That REALLY depends on the shiba and your child. Shibas are GENERALLY people friendly, but they are independent and do not take kindly to mis-handling or restraint of any kind. So if your toddler is looking for a dog to dress in dolly clothes, I would have to say to consider another breed. However, if you have a responsible and gentle child, and are looking for a spirited and playful playmate, a shiba might be just the ticket. Look for a breeder who is willing to meet you and your family before deciding if s/he has a shiba that will fit your needs. Not all shibas are kid-friendly, and not all kids are a good fit for a shiba.
