My puppies are 4 wks. old now, but all seven weighed 5.75 oz. up to 6.50 oz. I would say that is about average if they are healthy.

I believe the question was WHEN BORN ! My Scotties weigh between 7oz. -9oz. They gain anywhere from 1oz.-3 oz. per day. I weigh all my pups Every Night and chart them, from birth until their Healthy pup check up at the vet 6 weeks old. I have had one litter that they were smaller,they weighed in at 6oz.-7oz So I believe this is avarage weight since I have been breeding,Scotties, for severals years.!
