One should never leave a pet unattended with small children, but huskies usually like everyone. However, huskies are diggers, escape artists and need lots of attention and mental stimulation. Sometimes folks get in over their head trying to own huskies and have small kids, because you are basically adding a smart and sometimes demanding 2 year old to your family. I advise caution when getting a husky, not from danger to your kids, but that you may find them difficult to manage with a busy lifestyle.

We got our husky when I was pregnant and after I had my son they were definately playmates. She was so good with my son. She acted as if he was her own by keeping him out of trouble. My son and my husky are now both 2 years old and I have had no problems at all with her.
