My puppy is 6 1/2 weeks but ears are only half way up. Is this something to be concerned about?

8/29/07 This is typical of puppies at that age. Typically the puppies in a litter will begin playing and biting each others ears between 3 and 6 weeks. Chewing on the ears breaks down the cartilage in the ears and causes them to flop. Once away from his/her siblings, the ears begin to stand again. It usually take 2 to 3 weeks for them to stand completely erect again. Melinda
