We no longer breed our females after seven years of age, we retire them and they are spayed.

The age to stop breeding a female siberian husky is usually between 6 and 8 years old. Our females are bred once a year (every other heat cycle) and we retire them at 8 years old. Other breeders have been known to breed them on every heat or three heats and then a break and retire them at 6 years old. I prefer not to wear my females down with too much breeding.

That is a personal and complex question. Some dogsled drivers breed them until over 10. You should always have any female checked by a DVM. Some females the answer is 5, some 10.
