How do I introduce a new pug puppie to two one year old cats without a lot of problems? Also, what is the best way to potty train a pug?

10/18/05 As long as your cats have their front claws removed, there is no risk to your new pug's eyes during the introduction. Remember that they protrude quite a bit and need to be protected when they are young and naive. My pugs love cats, you need to show the cats that you are still very in love with them so that they don't hate the new pug because of all of the attention she is taking away from them. When my cat wasn't taking to our pug puppy a year ago. I put them in the bathroom together and sat on the floor with them to show them both that there was nothing to be afraid of. As for the potty training issue. It is important to let you new puppy out every two hours, when she wakes up, after she eats, after playing, and WHENEVER she cries. This will teach her that when she cries, she is telling you that she wants to go outside. Soon, it will be natural to go outside whenever she cries. Monica
