what and how much can a papillion eat?

10/3/05 The what as well as the how much is really going to depend on several factors. First, how big and how active your particular Papillon is. A Papillon who walks 4 miles a day or who competes heavily in agility is going to eat a lot more than a Pap who never gets out of the house. Second, what food you are feeding. The more nutritiously dense the food, the less you have to feed. You can discover this by reading the recommended feeding amount on the back of kibble. Ideally, what you want is a Pap whose ribs you can feel when you pet him, but whose ribs you can't count. If you can't easily feel the ribs, you're feeding too much. If you can count each one, you are feeding too little. I really hate to give an average, but if I had to, I'd say about 1/2 a cup of kibble per day. There is no ONE ideal food. We believe in feeding a natural diet so our dogs eat real meat and veggies. Because they are show dogs as well as agility dogs, they have to be in absolute to The Papillon Information Site
