A Visitor asked the following question on 7/29/2008
I have been approached to stud my 8 month old male. I do want to allow hime to breed but only when it is appropriate and healthy for him. I am concerned that he may be to young to breed. What would you suggest is a minimum age to allow a male to stud. What is reasonable compensation for a stud fee?

6/22/10 Responsible breeders are committed to excellence in the breed and healthy clearance testing to avoid passing on undesirable traits. If you are showing your boy, many other breeders would be happy to help you learn and grow in the breed. If you are not showing, I would strongly caution againast breeding any dog who is not health tested with excellent breed type. True breeders love and respect the breed and are committed to integrity in their breeding practices. Any dog that is not fully mature should never be used in a breeding program because you cannot guess the outcome of full maturity. Tammy
