A Visitor asked the following question on 8/18/2005
I have a toy/minature poodle who is 3 years old. He licks his foot at any given time, but it mostly seems to be when he's board. It's almost as though he's sucking his thumb. I have tried bying the yucky stuff to spray on his feet, but it doesn't even phase him....he just keeps licking. It not only makes me crazy, but it is making his breath smell really bad. Any suggestions to get him to stop?

Licking feet can be a sign of many things, most commonly allergies. Make an appointment with your vet to have him checked out. Sometimes small diet changes can put a stop to this before it becomes an ingrained habit.
