A Visitor asked the following question on 4/23/2005
He was 3lbs when I got him on 04/01/2005. He is now 4lbs He was born on 01/06/2005 My vet says he will be about 10 lbs the pet store where I got him said he should be about 5-7 ???? I don't know what size the parents where. Thank You Cindy

Having purchased him from a pet store and not knowing the size of his parents or any of his history a proper guess can not really be made. Most poms are between 3-7 pounds but your dog could possibly have mixed breed in its backround although it looks like a purebred pom. Which means it is possible that it gets to 10 pounds. I think you may have to wait and see.

If your puppy is four pounds at five months of age then I am sure your vet is right.
