A Visitor asked the following question on 3/13/2010
My pom is almost 6 months old, got hom at 3.5 months. The idiot we bought him from had "puppy pads" all over her house(including on her bed)and let him just "go" whenever and whearever he wanted!!. We had him within "inches" of being housebroken. He would even ring the bells we hung on the door knob when he had to "go". I recently had a death in the family and had to take him with us to P.A. The puppy did great on the trip! My wife and I were extremely impressed with how this puppy acted. Now that we have come back to M.D. he acts like he has never been house broken in his life!! He "messes" everywear in the house. I even tried crate training all over again, NO LUCK!! If I can't get this problem figured out, I will have to let him go and that would breake my wife heart. PLEASE...Can somebody help?

3/15/10 Your home has scent pheramones by him peeing all over it. Get cleaner and deep clean. Only feed him twice daily, and give him water at that time for only 20 minutes as well as his food, take him out every 2 hours, and try attaching him to a leash to your belt loop, so you will know when he has to go. example: sniffing, circling, looking outdoors. Take him to same spot every time, and say go potty. If he doesn't go right away, bring back in house and in a few minutes go outside again. Don't scold him! Reward him with praise/treat if he goes outside. You can also crate him when you are not home/or get dog door. Karen
