My pom has a swallow eye lid. I do not know what to do to get rid of it. His eye is crying and he is very irritated. Please let me know if they have any med over the counter in the Pet store. Thank you

It sounds like your dog could be suffering one of many infections. Most common would be equvialent to our pink eye. For this go to your local feed store and ask for terrimyacyn eye ointment. This is what the vet would give you for the infection. The tube costs around 7-8 bucks. The other thing that could be wrong is a spider or insect bite. Also they could have some foriegn object stuck in the eye, so you should be sure to open the eye and examine it, especially up under the top eyelid, and in pull down lower eyelid to inspect as well. IF it goes on longer then a week you NEED to take dog to vet. They can lose thier eye to infection if not properly treated. Hope that helps.
