A Visitor asked the following question on 10/12/2007
He's 5 months old and has been shedding. I don't feel that the short hair is because of shedding but rather because his size has been getting bigger and his legs been longer... Kinda panic that his hair will never grow longer because it doesn't seem so for the past 2 months...

10/12/07 This is normal for Pomeranian puppies. We breeders refer to this as the "Puppy Ugglies" stage. It can start as early as 12 weeks and last as long as 8 months. Pomeranians will not have their full coats in until they are at least 12-14 months old. If your Pom's skin starts to become rubbery or turn black, then your Pom may have BSD (Black Skin Disease). Usually BSD in Poms does not start until the Pom is around 2-3 years old, but lately there have been more cases in younger Pomeranians. More information can be found on Google by enterting the terms Black Skin Disease, Puppy Ugglies, or Alopecia. A great place to begin is http://www.pcoc.net/black-skin-disease.htm Cari
