I'm afraid my Pom may have gotten pregnant by a full sized chow-chow :( She was in heat and I caught them and separated them immediately and put her skooty pants back on (she wet them so I had to wash them). We kept her crated most of the time too. She stared her 1st heat (silent - no blood) on 5/21/07 and I believe they were "kind-of" (?) together around 6/2/07. Now that she is done with her heat her vulva is still swoolen and her nipples look swoolen and almost like there is a round swoolen disk under her nipples. She does seem more snuggly and a bit tired...any thoughts? If this keeps up I'll take her to the vet to palpate her abdomen...do you think she is pregnant? I feel horrible, she's only 8 months old - should the puppy be aborted for her health? :(

If you want your Pom to live, you'll want to get her to a vet as soon as possible and terminate the pregnancy if there is one. A full size Chow mating with a female Pom will almost certainly kill your female.
