A Visitor asked the following question on 6/7/2006
I have a six month old female pom and a 8 month old male. We think the female is in season but there has been no sign of bleeding. We have heard bleeding may not always be seen. Her nipples and bits are swollen. Is this about the right age for her to go in season? Only i need to know whever to keep them apart.

6/8/06 If the male is showing interest in here then yes its quite possible that she is in heat and that doesn't always include blood but more often then not you will see some eventually. Males become interested up to a few weeks before the actual fertile breeding when a female will stand for the male. My best advice is to separate them the very first time you see him even try to mount her and then keep them separate for at least 2 weeks maybe even 3 depending on the indivdual girl. Kaleena
