I adopted a 4yr old male English Mastiff about 9 months ago. Recently he started pulling food(bread, cereal boxes, cakes) off the counters and table. He never did this before. Over the past couple of weeks we have been preparing to move. Packing things up, moving out furniture(couch in which he lies beside), (spending less time at home). Do you think he is experiencing anxiety about the change? Is he hungry or bored? Just yesterday, we left him home for an hour and came home to him eating cereal, 6 boxes pulled off the shelf and chewed, 2 loags of bread and a box of oatmeal. Do you think this behavior will change once we get settled into our new house?

4/20/07 Congratulations on your new addition. I will make this short and sweet... You need a crate and you need to train all the humans in you household first! Eating binges like this one may take your dogs life. He may eat something not edible or poisonous. Contact me for more information. Gail Gail & Terry
