HI,
We have been raising mastiffs for over 15 years and I can tell you that it should be no problem raising 2 males together. We have 4 intact males of varied ages and they get on well. I would ask if you are sure the mastiff is the brred you want. Mastiffs are not guard dogs persay. They also are not outside dogs by choice. They are very social and need people to be of good temperment, they do best when they live indoors with there people. That being said, they are great guard dogs if you want something big and for appearence only. They also are a short coated dog and don't tolorate extreme weather outdoors be it hot or cold. So if your looking for companion/guard dog a mastiff might be the dog for you. If you want a true guard dog, you would do best with another breed. There are breed profules on Quality Dog and you should read and find what you are wanting the dog to do as well as like it's looks. Please feel free to e mail with any questions on the breed I am always glad to help
