My 3 year old schnauzer has developed brown spots on her underside. Is this normal or something to be concerned about?

Is she licking that area. My male MS had some discoloration on his underside. There were no lumps or bumps, just a brownish coloring. We found that he had a contact dermatitis from laying in something that irritated his skin, then he licked it causing the discoloration. I went away in a few days.
