Maltese can weigh between 4-9 lbs when grown. They usually say you can tell how much they will weigh when grown by doubling their weight at 15 weeks of age. But it all depends on how much they eat, how much exercise they get,and their bone structure. The AKC standard is 4-7 lbs. They are a toy breed. There is no such thing as a "Teacup" Maltese. That is just a small puppy, probably because the breeder is breeding down the smaller ones, sometimes at the expense of the health of the pups. A reputable breeder won't sell their puppies as "Teacups"!
