My Lil Maltese is in heat, When do i know for sure to have the male ready to breed her. She is very swollen in that area.

First of all, educate. Read read read! Will you have homes for the puppies produced? Is the female of GOOD quality to reed the right traits into future puppies? As far as breeding it is usally day 8 to day 15 but please comtemplate this more before doing so. Is the male healthy? Are both vet checked? Here is a good website with breding info. DebbieJensen.com
