Over the past month my Lhasa Apso has been acting differently, he lost his best friend a german shepherd, he acts depressed, over the past three days he ha had trouble walking, he usually is able to jump on the couch or beds but has been unable to do so, if I touch his stomach or hips he starts to shake, he even tried to bite when a family member rubbed his stomach, he acts frightened when he was not able to jump from the floor to the couch, he has been laying around or sleeping alot during the day and at night he sleeps as close to me as he can, is he ill should I take him to the vet?

7/28/05 I would take him to the vet just to be on the safe side. If there is nothing wrong with him phyically and this is an onset of him missing his other cannine companion.... mabye another dog in the household would help him out. Goodluck :) Dea

4/26/06 Any pain symptoms should be investigated by a vet. Lyme disease can cause all these symptoms, for example. Depression can be the culprit, but these problems seem primarily physical in origin. Hepatitis is also a possibility. I wonder what was the cause of the GSD's death????? Genie
