What is the best way to train my new 2 1/2 month old female yellow lab, and how long should it take.

The kennel should be just large enough for the pup. If the pup has too much room in the kennel it will soil in it. They should only have room to turn around and lay down in them. You should only keep them in the crate for 5 to 10 minutes at first. Increase time slowly. Under 12 weeks old not more than 1 hour at a time. 12 to 16 weeks, 2 hours. Older pups 3 to 4 hours and so on. This is throughout the day. You should be able to crate at night. May have to clean up for a little while in the morn. but it should get better as the puppy matures.
