1/1/05 There are many types of dog food out there. The trick is to find what works for your dogs - and what they like. I have had great success with several brands. I used to use Nutro and discovered my dogs would get tired of it after a while. Check the protein and fat percentage of each food and consider how much your dogs need. Puppies and active dogs need more. When our JRTs are competitive on the race-track and practicing continuously they need up to 30% protein. When they have a down season - they need less - closer to 25%. They will have lose bowels if they are getting too much protein. We have found that we love a few types of dog food. Natural Balance with duck is a real favorite. Also, the Sam's brand is great. We use the professional grade during peak training and the regular grade during other times of the year. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Sherri www.amjacks.com Sherri

3/13/05 Hi I've been raising Jacks for quite some time and Swear by Pro Plan. I also fed it to my hound mix who lived to the ripe old age of 17. Jacks are very active and I prefer Chicken and rice, Pro Plan has a variety of foods to choose from for your different dog needs. I've tried other foods and have always gone back to Pro Plan. Diane
